MANiC RADiO is a Licensed Radio Station and as such we have to comply with the requirements of the DCMA and the RIAA as imposed by LoudCity LLC who monitor our streaming servers 24/7 and collect payments from us on behalf of recording artists and record label organisations. These requirements include but are not limited to restrictions on the tracks that maybe played (US released only), the frequency that the same track and/or artist maybe played and the format of the artist and track titles as will ultimately be determined by the Mp3 ID3 tags of the tracks streamed.

Under US law any breach of the RIAA regulations is deemed to be the responsibility of the original source of a stream i.e. in the case of Internet Radio - that responsibility lies with the individual (DJ) streaming the track. To be clear - YOU! Breach of the regulations can incur stiff penalties running to many 10s of thousands $ and/or imprisonment.

MANiC RADiO will provide advice and web links to RIAA and LoudCity guidelines and regulations in this respect. You can expect Station Management and Adminstrators to give you a hard time about anything that could possibly be in breach of these regulations. We do so for your own good and any advice or warning in this respect should be taken in the spirit it is given not as a personal rebuke or attack.

DJs found to persistently breach the regulations will no longer be allowed to stream through our servers. This is for the protection of both the DJs (see above) and to ensure we maintain our unblemished record with LoudCity (not a single warning to date).

All that said - it really isn't hard to comply!

Do you understand the implications of the above and agree to comply with both the regulations as identified above and the rules of MANiC RADiO?
Yes
No

Playing of independent / unsigned artists is not affected by the above but must be pre-approved by Station Management before streaming as there are other legal considerations.
